Who we are
Tipsy Chef is a bar and restaurant at 22 Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 1DA. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. We keep things simple: we collect as little as possible and we never sell your data.
What we collect
Contact form. If you send us a message through the contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you type in. We use these only to read and reply to your enquiry.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are not used to identify or profile you.
We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
How we use your information
- To reply to enquiries you send us through the contact form.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
The lawful basis for this under UK GDPR is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us and protecting our website.
Bookings, orders and other third parties
Some things on this site hand you over to other companies. When you use them, their own privacy policies apply:
- Table and brunch bookings are handled by Control Suite (bookings.controlsuite.co.uk). Any details you enter there go to them, not to this website.
- Delivery orders are placed on Uber Eats or Deliveroo. Your order and payment details are handled entirely by them.
- Maps on our contact page are embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when the map loads.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts so the site displays correctly.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Embedded third party content such as Google Maps may set its own cookies; see Google's privacy policy for details.
How long we keep your information
Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
